For over 30 years, the King Hubbard Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #10 has proudly hosted our annual Shop with a Cop program — a local tradition that brings smiles, hope, and holiday cheer to children and families right here in Tuscaloosa County.
Each year, our officers volunteer their time to take underprivileged children on a special shopping trip for Christmas. The kids are paired one-on-one with uniformed, off-duty officers and given the opportunity to pick out warm clothing, toys, and even gifts for their parents or siblings — ensuring that everyone in the home has something under the tree.
This program is 100% local and 100% community-driven. Every dollar raised stays right here in Tuscaloosa County, helping us meet real needs and show families that they are seen, supported, and cared for.
Our goal is simple: to give back to the same community we serve and protect every day. Through your generosity, we’re able to make the holidays brighter and continue building trust between law enforcement and the people we proudly call neighbors.

Shop With a Cop: Bringing Holiday Joy to Tuscaloosa Families
This holiday season, the King Hubbard Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #10 is continuing a beloved Tuscaloosa tradition, connecting local law enforcement with families in need through our Shop With a Cop program.
For over 30 years, our officers have volunteered their time to bring smiles, laughter, and dignity to children across Tuscaloosa County. Through your generosity, we’re able to provide warm clothing, toys, and essential items that make the holidays a little brighter for families facing hard times.
When our officers take children shopping, they’re not just filling carts, they’re building connections. Every conversation, every laugh, every shared moment reminds these kids that their community cares about them and that trust can grow where kindness leads the way.
Our Holiday Mission
At FOP Lodge #10, we believe community policing starts with compassion.
Our goal is simple: to serve beyond the badge and ensure that no child in Tuscaloosa County goes without a reason to smile this Christmas.
Through Shop With a Cop, our officers partner with local businesses, schools, and community members to identify children who could use an extra hand — and a little extra joy — during the holiday season.

- 💙 Friend of the FOP – $100 – Covers holiday essentials for one child — including warm clothing, winter accessories, and a small toy
- 🟤 Bronze Shield – $250 – Provides a full shopping experience for a child, complete with new clothes, shoes, and gifts for their family.
- ⚪ Silver Shield – $500 – Supports two children through the full Shop With a Cop experience, including clothing, toys, and family needs.
- 🟡 Gold Shield – $1,000 – Covers four families’ shopping trips and helps restock the fund for emergency winter needs identified by local schools.
- ⚪ Platinum Shield – $2,500 – Funds a full day of shopping for 10 children, plus helps purchase additional coats and supplies for late referrals.
- 💎 Diamond Shield – $5,000 – Provides holiday shopping experiences for 20+ children and supports year-round community outreach programs run by the Lodge.
